Quirk
Amaya's quirk allows her to accumulate photons within her immediate vicinity, she does this passively causing her to appear as if she's emitting a faint glow. However she can manipulate the gathered photons to some extent as she can gather then to form balls of light or she can arrange the photons to create minor optical illusions.
Due to constantly being surrounded by the light that she attracts, it messes with her internal body clock so it makes it harder for her to tell the time or for her body to tell when she should be sleeping. She's also at an increased risk of getting light related skin issues such as UV radiation and sunburn and so she applies sunblock and other skincare products twice a day to protect it.
Appearance
Amaya is a relatively tall girl with a willow build, long blonde hair with pink tips and large pink eyes. She is of mixed descent; Japanese on her father's side and white Austrian on her mother's side, though takes after her mother a little more in appearance and despite having been born and raised in Japan, is regularly mistaken for being a foreigner.
Generally Amaya comes off as quite feminine with her soft features accentuated by fairly obvious make up and almost always dresses in styles and garments that are typically associated with women.
Personality
In contrast to her cousin Amaya is highly talkative, energetic and openly inquisitive. She has no issues with striking up conversations with total strangers or even with asking them questions from the get go. She has an air of confidence about her, enhanced by a can-do attitude.
She has a deep passion for hero suit design as well as fashion design in general, she loves finding creative ways to combine aesthetics and utility in her work and takes great pride in the work that she produces. Even in her spare time she can feel be seen doodling new concepts and ideas.
Most of the time she comes off as being fun and carefree, occasionally even playfully flirty. Most people would assume that she's a bit of a party girl and not really one for studying. However just because she likes to play hard doesn't mean that she doesn't also work hard.
She is incredibly diligent when it comes to her school work on projects and in all her years of schooling has never once missed a due date for her coursework or homework.
Background
Amaya's father, Shion, is a wedding photographer and her mother, Diana, is a model for clothing catalogues. The two were neighbours in the same apartment building and hit it off, the rest as they say, is history.
The two went on to get married and have three daughters together, their eldest Kaguya who is four years older than Amaya, their middle child, and their youngest, Sorashi who is five years younger than Amaya.
The family is quite close knit, largely due to both Shion and Diana being freelance which afforded them more flexibility with childcare than the average family. In fact the couple even helped out Shion's sister by looking after their children twice a week so that they could focus their attention on their growing business.
And this is how Amaya grew close with her cousin of the same age, Nijiko. Though it was in different areas, both girls had a budding passion for support and though Nijiko was less enthralled with the world of heroes than Amaya, she still humoured her interest in them.
When they were thirteen the two girls made a promise that the two of them would go into business together one day, creating hero costumes and other support items for heroes. A goal which both girls are still committed to even as graduation draws ever closer.
Both girls have been applying to the same universities so that they can grow together. Just as they have since being accepted onto the same course in the same class at UA. Both are optimistic for the future but are looking to enjoy their remaining time as much as possible.
